Khairi: How I Deal With Stress
Monday, May 20, 2013 1:34 AM
Thankfully I have ways to de-stress that I am sure we often overlook. They always calm me down enough to put that table back to normal. ┬─┬ ノ( ゜-゜ノ)
1. Eat
To eat is to live. Eating makes me happy. I like having that full feeling after a hearty meal. That is why every time I'm in the dumps I go out to eat a very big meal. Our bodies need to be healthy and properly fueled to do work. Working hard on an empty stomach makes me grumpy and is a sure way to feel stress.
2. Sleep it off
You might be saying that I'm just running away from the problem but I have always found sleeping helpful. Sometimes, we feel stressed because we are tired and our mood drops. Getting a proper sleep helps our bodies rest and restores our energy reserves.
I find myself happy and energised after a good night’s sleep with my stress levels back down. Time to take back the world!
3. Hakuna Matata – stop worrying
I tend to worry a lot. Once I start worrying about one thing, it leads to another and another and I end up going into a vicious cycle of worrying.
STOP! I have to constantly remind myself to let go of my worries and just do things one step at a time. More often than not, my worries come from things I can avoid or have no control over. With that in mind, I know that stress is optional.
4. Be with friends
I feel blessed to have such caring friends. Whenever I start to show signs of stress or feel worried, my friends know how to make me feel better and always remind me that they are always there for me. (awwwww~ thanks guys!) All I have to do is just tell them.
I think that whenever we feel stressed we always forget that we are NOT the only ones feeling so. Everyone is going through the same problem one way or another. Be with the people you love and care for each other. (:
So the next time I have a really tough time, I’m going to take a deep breath, have a big meal with my friends and get a long nap at night. That’s the way I deal with stress. What’s yours?
Khyree.
