"You are what you eat." I'm sure many of you have heard of that term before. You want good skin? Put good, healthy food on your plate. You want to lose weight? Stop eating complex carbohydrates and have a balanced today. Check out these types of food (or drink) that will help you achieve a radiant complexion!

1. Salmon - Salmon is a fish that has one of highest concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids are healthy and beneficial to your skin, they don't clog your pores, reduce the body's production of inflammatory substances and prevent you from getting wrinkles and fine lines on your face. Plus, it's delicious!

2. Blueberries - They are high in antioxidants and are regarded by experts to be the highest food source of antioxidants. The antioxidants in blueberries help neutralize free radicals that damage our DNA, thus reducing damage to ours. When our skin cells are protected against such damage, our skin tends to look younger for long. Blueberries can be added into your cereal as a topping in the morning, act as a snack during the day, or a topping for a healthy yogurt dessert.

3. Kiwi - Fruits are always good for you, right? They are high in fibre and packed with loads of vitamin. Kiwi packs more vitamin C that any other fruit. It's tangy, sweet, and sometimes a little sour. The Vitamin C in kiwi helps maintain the collagen in our skin and collagen keeps our skin firm. Firm skin means a fresher and more youth look, so eat your kiwis!

4. Green tea - Just like blueberries, green tea is rich in antioxidants, which help keep our skin young looking. Green tea is not only packed with antioxidants, they are also high in vitamins C, D and K and other essential minerals like zinc, calcium and iron. Change up your morning routine with a cup of green tea instead of a cup of coffee, which dehydrates your skin. Drink your way to fabulous skin with green tea!

5. Whole Grain products - They are a healthy alternative to pasta, white bread or any type of complex carbohydrates. Whole grains are also packed with fibre, which we all know helps with digestion. When you have digestive problems, it normally reflects on your skin. They also contain compounds that are used to make skin-firming collagen. So make a change in your diet, swap out complex carbohydrates with whole grain products like wheat bread and wheat pasta. You'll not only see a change in your skin, but also your weight!

6. Water - This is something that everyone knows. Drink more water (at least 8 cups a day) and you're more likely to have good skin. Stay hydrated and hydrated skin is healthy skin, which means beautiful skin. So drink up!

For gorgeous skin, make sure you stay hydrated and have a balanced diet. Try to stay away from sugary things, but if you are craving for something sweet, have a moderate amount of dark chocolate. Dark chocolates also full of antioxidants, which slow, down your aging process and prevent from many different types of cancer. They are plenty of other types of food out there that help boost beautiful skin, but these are some that you will definitely have easy access to. I hope this helps and good luck on your journey to having pretty, clear skin!
