ShermaineNg: Miss Alex Westcott

Today's lesson was a hands-on experience of what a press conference was like - Yes, we had to play pretend reporters for our different publications and write stories based on her and our magazine. It was rather horrible (please don't mark me down for this), because, well.. Our group didn't really know what we were we focusing on just yet and coming up with questions on the spot might not even help us write our stories.

Oh! Oh! I forgot to mention who's the "STAR" of our press conference!!
Alexandra Westcott, aka Alex.
A lucky shot ^^v

She's basically a multimedia correspondent for Mediacorp's Today. So, yeap.. She's something like our senior. (Maybe one day, one of us will be like her..)

Shortly after Alex's self introduction, the Q&A session began. It was a battle field of questions!! Everyone was vying for a chance to be spotted by Alex because we were only interested in what we wanted/ needed. Yes, it was selfish like that. I mean, what does she wanting to be a journalist got to do with celebrating the seasons? No, i really don't care.

From this experience, I realised that you have to be rather brave / shameless as a reporter, like you have to be loud and you need to be heard and seen. It was also really important to have a voice recorder, because honestly, I could not pay attention after 10 mins into the Q&A session. It was so hectic, it just...
A VOICE RECORDER IS VERY IMPORTANT, and also a note book to take down notes as well as good questions, I suppose?

I know I sound rather nonchalant with this experience, but honestly, it was great exposure.
